At the moment, stretch ceilings occupy one of the first places in the popularity of ceiling decoration. Due to their properties and color solutions, they are installed almost everywhere, and due to the great competition of manufacturers, the price of the issue is low, so this ceiling is available to almost everyone. But even with such a seemingly reliable material, there are problems, namely, sagging of the canvas.
The first reason for sagging stretch ceilings can be banal flooding from above. In this case, it is necessary to turn off the electricity and invite specialists to carefully flush the water. This can be done through the opening under the lighting fixture or through the edge of the canvas, which will have to be pulled out of the baguette from either side. Then you should properly dry the canvas so that there are no stains left on it.
Manufacturers are constantly fighting for a place in the market and this competition forces them to reduce the cost of goods, and this can significantly affect the quality of products. Poor-quality material is a fairly common cause of sagging. In the pursuit of savings, we sometimes choose a cheaper option without thinking about the consequences, and as a result, we pay twice. Please read all the documentation carefully before making a selection. Choose already well-known companies, as they have been operating for several years and have proven themselves.
If the old concrete ceiling was not well prepared for the installation of stretch, then plaster, putty, whitewash and other various debris will fall on the canvas from the inside and press on it. You will have to call a specialist who needs to completely remove the ceiling canvas, clean it and properly prepare the old ceiling, and then re-install the stretch one.
This reason occurs mainly in the cold season, when the heating is turned on. If there is a high air temperature in the room, and cold air walks behind the ceiling, then the coating may deform and SAG. To avoid this problem, it is necessary to install ventilation grilles, then the air will be able to mix and the problem will not arise.
As a rule, the frame or fixing baguette is installed on the wall using self-tapping screws or dowel nails. This reason occurs mainly in large areas, since the weight of the ceiling is quite large and requires additional fastening. If the wall crumbles or is not strong enough, over time the fasteners will come out and the baguette will move away from the wall, and the ceiling cloth will SAG. In this case, you will need to partially remove the ceiling and install additional fasteners.
Keep in mind that a perfectly flat ceiling does not exist, its permissible sagging is 1% of the diagonal of the room. It will be almost invisible.
