The washing machine pleases Housewives with impeccable work, as well as the opportunity to save time and effort. But what if you notice that after washing your clothes, they no longer Shine clean, but an unpleasant smell comes from the machine itself, or it has become worse at heating water? The reason may be that it is time to clean the equipment from the inside. To do this, you don’t need to call the wizard and use expensive special tools. You can do everything yourself-quickly and simply, and we will help you with this.
The drum and heater
Due to the increased water hardness, scale forms on the heating element and drum over time. Minerals form a hard crust, which negatively affects the operation of the unit. You can dissolve them with acids-the usual acetic or citric acid, which are available in every home. The procedure is as follows:
- Take 2 cups of 9% vinegar and pour it into a drum.
- Mix a quarter Cup of water and baking soda, put the gruel in the receiver compartment.
- Start the car in idle mode, setting the maximum temperature and time.
Vinegar can be replaced with powdered citric acid. It must be poured into the detergent compartment and turn on the machine, setting the maximum mode. Depending on the capacity of the tank and the degree of contamination, you will need from 1 to 6 packs of the product at a time.
Rubber seal in the drum
Moisture accumulates in the cuff and subsequently a musty smell appears, and mold can also form. To clean the sealer, you need to pull it towards you and straighten the creases. Dip a sponge or cloth soaked in water in cleaning powder or baking soda and wipe the surface around the circumference. Don’t forget to clean the adjacent metal ring. If the dirt won’t budge, use a toothbrush.
Have you noticed mold? Wash the sealer particularly well and thoroughly. You can use chlorine-containing products, but do not get carried away – they can damage the rubber. The cuff should not be stretched too much, otherwise it will tear. Finally, rinse the surface with clean water and wipe it dry.
The tray receiver
First, it must be extracted from the equipment. As a rule, you just need to pull it with an effort. If you see that it has accumulated detergent residue, wash it with a brush or sponge under running water and wipe it dry. Be careful not to damage the rubber spigot. If lime deposits and possibly rust do not fall behind easily and quickly enough, spray them with detergent and leave them for a couple of hours. Once you’ve finished with the tray, put it back in the vending machine.
It is located at the bottom of the unit and is covered by a removable panel. To get to it, you need to pry the door with any sharp object. Put a rag under the typewriter in this place, which absorbs moisture well. Unscrew the lid and drain the water. Then remove all the accumulated garbage inside. Wipe the filter, tighten the cover, and replace the panel.
Water fill filter
Before starting any actions, be sure to turn off the water! Turn the back of the car towards you. Unscrew the filling hose nut. Inside, you will see a grid. It must be removed with pliers and cleaned with a toothbrush. Then replace the filter and tighten the hose.
After these manipulations, it remains only to wipe the outer sides of your washing machine from dust and drips and it will work like new!
